I think it is actually sort of irrelevant whether or not global warming/climate change is as extreme as they say. The same things that are purported to be causing this are also causing so much more damage to our world. I think the damage to our environment and the species in it are far less repairable than the problems we may have with our atmosphere. Granted, everything is linked and the atmospheres problem is an ecosystem's problem as well, I think that the bigger portion of our problems are still down on the ground.

There is only one solution to climate change, loss of species and damage to the environment. A complete idealistic change is needed. The world(especially the U.S.) needs to become less consumptive. We need to change the way we eat, the way we buy, basically we need to change the way we live our lives. Its sad that people dont look at humans as a part of nature, even though we are probably the greatest influencing factor. As soon as people start looking at humans as a piece to the puzzle of nature all these negative things will turn around but until then its only going to keep going downhill.

I completely agree. We have to cut through all the technical bullshit and get down to the root of the problem, which you have described. I myself am finding it difficult to change habits and preferences. I've done little things, but everything seems so hard to achieve or impractical to accomplish considering any particular persons life situation. I guess at least adding awareness starts moving people in the right direction, but to really get people going, that seems hard, even when the facts are written on the wall.

I totally agree. Its like my science teacher says "stop talking the talk and walk the walk." Don't go around telling people to try and stop global warming if you're not doing it yourself. It is definitely not easy to change your ways, especially when you've been doing it your whole life. And yes, it is hard to get people going, but soon everyone will. But people only seem to try when something bad is coming. Who knows when that will be?
