just to start some activity on this site, i've decided to put something out there. What matters to me as well as (assumption) the general public is creating a sustainable environment while not having a large impact on our current way of life. Although it seems to me that this cannot be done together. What we as a society are faced with is what matters more, continueing on our current way of life or protecting our environment so future generations can have a place to live? What does anyone else think? EP

I think you hit to the core of the real dilemma. I think though, with some education in science and economics, people will begin to realize that really its not a choice, its a necessity. We've never had a necessity to change our social, economic, and damn well personal aspects of our lives. But that's the point, LIVES! This throw away world won't last forever. Even if things aren't dire now or soon, its blatantly obvious that someday we will face this environmental crisis. Everything is at risk either now or later. Given enough education I don't see how anyone could come to a conclusion contrary to economic reconstruction of some kind.
